I have been working on these collages for 3 years limiting myself to very few source materials in order to closely control the way the works look especially in terms of color and unity. Most include black and white drawing.
All of the collages are 8 1/2" x 11" framed works hung in a grid of either 9 or 16.
The 8 1/2" x 11" format relates to the standard page of information in a typical reference book and the grid provides a system to confidently/over confidently deliver faux facts.
Collage provides me with a self assured way to dispense fanciful information of dubious truth.

Collage is a very accessible medium as it is pedestrian, democratic and strangely welcoming.
For me, collage is a translatable language for creating and interpreting invention, dreams and daydreams. A way to make images fantastic, menacing, speculative and humorous.
